什么是IGD?

Several IGD participants pose for a group selife.Intergroup Dialogue [IGD] in Tertiary 教育 is a 研究 practice that brings together participants of different 和 common social identities (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religious identity, ability status, citizenship/immigration status, socio-economic background, etc.)学习和参与 meaningfully about their differences 和 similarities, 和 their perspectives on diversity, campus climate for inclusion, 和 societal issues.

The Office of 多样性, Equity, 和 Inclusion offers IGD for for 菠菜网lol正规平台 Students, 教师, 工作人员 和 Administrators during the spring semester 2024 through an 8-week program.

As a facilitated, structured approach for engaging in face-to-face interactions engaging with issues of diversity, social inequality, 和 social justice, IGD can have a lasting impact on dialogue participants 和 on those who train to become IGD facilitators. IGD can build 一个’s capacity for inclusive excellence 和 engagement with social issues 在日常工作中.

1. Develop intergroup underst和ing where participants explore their own 和 others' social identities 和 statuses, 和 the role of social structure in relationships 特权和不平等;

2. Foster positive intergroup relationships developing empathy 和 motivation to bridge differences of identities 和 statuses in situations of collaboration 和 in conflict; 和

3. Foster intergroup collaboration for personal 和 social responsibility toward greater social justice, inclusive leadership, 和 teamwork.

IGD研究所

A different program than the above listed dialogue groups, the IGD研究所 prepares 菠菜网lol正规平台 faculty, staff 和 students to facilitate those groups.  秋季提供 semester, The IGD研究所 engages participants during six weekly day-long training sessions in learn 和 practice Intergroup Dialogue pedagogy.  这是我们的主要目标之一 of the IGD研究所 is to prepare participants to serve in our Spring semester InterGroup Dialogue 8-week program for Students, 教师 和 工作人员.
