学生人事服务证书

(PPSC)

Graduates of our PPSC programs will qualify to be credentialed as school social workers 由加州政府批准. 这个PPSC只在加州有效. 获取PPSC in School Social Work with an option of attaining a secondary credential in Child 福利及考勤.  All 菠菜网lol正规平台 PPSC Program and California on Teacher Credentialing 必须达到标准才能获得证书. 

There are two ways the 学生人事服务证书(PPSC) is offered at 菠菜网lol正规平台's 社会工作学院, through the On-Campus Program or through the Post-Master’s 程序(PM-PPSC). 

(1)校内PPSC证书

Eligibility

Persons admitted to the PPSC program must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in any field from a regionally accredited college or university.

Requirements

  • Attend the PPSC Informational Session in late Fall.

  • 完成 California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) - Alternate options for meeting Basic Skills Requirement (BSR) besides CBEST, visit 满足BSR的选项    
  • Candidates will complete a minimum of 1000 hours of field experience including at least 450 or 600 (with Child 福利及考勤 - CWA) field hours working in 经批准的学区.

  • Candidates must successfully complete all required 60 semester units of the Master in Social Work (MSW) degree coursework, maintain a 3.最低平均绩点0分; 并获得城市垃圾学位.
  • Complete all the PPSC required courses - see section below.  
  • Provide all required documentation to the PPSC On Campus Coordinator to receive the 项目合同-退出审查表.
  • File for the Credential with the 菠菜网lol正规平台 Credential Services Office, Sweeney Hall 445 in the Lurie College of Education and pay the filing fee. 这个办公室将签发 recommendation to earn the PPSC in School Social Worker (SSW), and if the student also pursues it, the Child 福利及考勤 (CWA).

必修课程

除了所有必需的都市固体废物课程(都市固体废物手册(修订版. Feb. 2022).docx), outlined on page 17, students must take in their final year of placement SW 272 Social Work in Educational Settings, SW 263 Social Work and the Law, and the PPSC 2nd Year Field Practicum courses, SW 232 1st 学期野外班, and SW 233 2nd 学期野外班.

(2)硕士后PPSC证书(PM-PPSC)

  • The PM-PPSC curriculum model includes two 10-week courses, offered either consecutively or concurrently and additional field units and internship in an approved PPSC program 学校设置.
  • 完成 450 or 600 (with CWA) field hours working in 经批准的学区. Please note that 菠菜网lol正规平台 社会工作学院 requires that PPSC candidates be placed in a public 学区, which includes public charter school supported by a public 学区. 菠菜网lol正规平台 PM-PPSC candidates are not permitted to gain hours through an 外部供应商代理，I.e. a non-profit agency, non-public schools (NPS), local 县级项目等等. The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) stipulates the role of a school social worker with clearly defined standards and domains to qualify for a PPSC that are fulfilled in the public 学区 environment. 
  • Completion the learning activities required to meet the California Commission on Teacher 的认证标准 http://www.ctc.ca.gov/docs/default-source/educator-prep/standards/pps-school-social-work-pdf.pdf?sfvrsn=6 in the areas of School Social Work and (if applicable) Child 福利及考勤.

The curriculum model includes two 10-week courses, offered either consecutively or concurrently, and additional field units and internship in an approved PPSC program 学校设置. All other PPSC Program and state CTC requirements must also be met.

Upcoming application deadlines are the following. Please note that applications will not be reviewed until after the deadline closes.

(3) CWA-Only(儿童福利和出席)计划

CTC now requires that all Social Work Field Instructors to have their Child Welfare and Attendance (CWA) authorization in order to supervise PPSC MSW and Post-Masters interns who will be working with interns/students pursuing their CWA credential. 此外, schools are facing increasing challenges with student attendance and need the expertise 解决这些问题的社会工作者. 如果你有社会工作PPSC，但是 have not received your CWA authorization this program is designed for you.
